Aetna Foundation Announces 2006 Regional Community Health Grants Program

Since its inception in 2001, the Aetna Foundation’s Regional Grants Program has awarded over $8 million to support disparities in health programs.


In 2006, Aetna and the Aetna Foundation will award up to $2.9 million through the Regional Grants Program for philanthropic initiatives focused on the following healthcare issues: depression; childhood health — obesity (including diabetes) and oral health; and end-of-life care.


Applications will be accepted from February 28, 2006, to March 31, 2006, for all regions (i.e., Mid-Atlantic, North Central, Northeast, Southeast, Southwest, and West).


The full program description, including information regarding funding areas of interest, geographic targets, and funds available by region, will be published on the program’s Web site on February 28, 2006.
