Carlos Rangel, Chief Investment Officer, has recently been selected to join the U.S. Treasury Department’s Advisory Committee on Racial Equity (TACRE) and the Managed Funds Association (MFA) Board of Directors.
U.S. Treasury describes TACRE as a “first-of-its-kind committee” that will “provide advice and recommendations to Secretary Yellen and Deputy Secretary Wally Adeyemo on efforts to advance racial equity in the economy and address acute disparities for communities of color.” During his two-year term, Rangel will join 24 other inaugural members of the committee from a wide array of backgrounds, including former elected officials, academics, financial services professionals, and advocacy leaders, to address topics ranging from financial inclusion and access to capital to housing stability, federal supplier diversity, and economic development.
As one of the 2022-2023 appointed members of the MFA Board of Directors, Rangel will be working with other leaders to address the regulatory, operational and business issues that the alternative asset management industry faces worldwide. MFA is the trade association for the global alternative asset management industry, which, in aggregate, has more than $4.3 trillion in assets under management for thousands of public and private funds, charitable endowments, sovereign governments, and other global institutional investors around the world
Earlier this year, Rangel was made an inaugural member of the Milken Institute’s DEI in Asset Management Council.
