Americans weigh-in on strategies to ensure an economic recovery

On June 26, 2010 AmericaSpeaks a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization with the mission to reinvigorate American democracy by engaging citizens in the public decision-making will host one of the largest-ever national discussions about the federal budget and implications on the future.

AmericaSpeaks: Our Budget, our Economy will involve thousands of people in communities across the country linked together by satellites and the Internet for an unprecedented national town meeting. Participants will work in small groups to find common ground and use state-of-the-art technology to convey national priorities.

Twenty communities across the country will host local town halls and connect to the national conversation – which include W.K. Kellogg Foundation priority places of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Detroit, Mich., and Jackson, Miss. To join the discussion or find an event near you please visit www.usabudgetdiscussion.org.
