Food and Society Policy Fellowship Announcing Request for Applications

APPLICATION DEADLINE — SEPTEMBER 15, 2006

The Thomas Jefferson Agricultural Institute is pleased to announce a request for applications for the 2007-2008 class of Food and Society Policy Fellows. This is a national program of part-time, two year professional fellowships offered to support and enhance creative media and communications activities of food and agriculture leaders. Fellowship activities are intended to catalyze a healthier, diverse, just and sustainable U.S. food and agricultural system.

Fellows will begin their activities January 1, 2007. With the fifth fellowship class, we are seeking fellows who will work in communication and policy in the general area of sustainable food systems or specifically in areas of: enhancing economic opportunities for farms, ranches and rural communities; environmental stewardship; promoting new markets and rural entrepreneurship; or food security and increasing access to healthy food for all.
