Docs for Tots, an organization committed to making it as simple as possible for doctors to become involved in advocacy on behalf of infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, recently received additional support from the Eos Foundation, and others for their work.
Dr. George Askew, the executive director of Docs for Tots was also recently honored with a fellowship from Ashoka International, for his efforts to link health professionals with child advocacy on a national and global level.
This nationwide network of doctors is able to respond to the requests of child advocacy organizations and others who seek doctor involvement in promoting policies and practices that will improve the health and development of children. Most recently the organization rallied in support of the youngest victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Doc for Tots is a nonpartisan, advocacy organization formed to encourage more doctors to fulfill their important role as active advocates for children on the national, state and local level.
