Chaco’s Defenders Gain Prominence

The Chaco’s Defenders Foundation, from Paso Del Rey, Argentina, is not your usual run-of-the-mill sports club. It was founded in 1994 and soon became concerned with developing social activities in the neighborhood; these days, it helps 1,200 children and adolescents.

Aside from the sporting and cultural activities, these youngsters participate in health and leadership training programs – supported by Kellogg Foundation since May 2003.

As a crowning achievement, the Defenders soccer team has been classified for the Argentine ‘B’ championship, just one notch below the ‘First B’ national classification. “We are very optimistic about the future. The growth of the community will be even greater,” said director Fabián Ferrarro.
