Report Shows Mental Health Services in Great Jeopardy Across the Country

In 2002, the National Mental Health Association (NMHA) began a report card project to assess the priority that state policymakers are giving to mental health services. But given the economic condition of our nation today, states now face an unprecedented budget crisis that threatens the foundation of mental health services and makes it nearly impossible to give a grade or make state to state comparisons. The full report Can’t Make the Grade: NMHA State Mental Health Assessment Project and the Executive Summary are both available online. This work was a collaborative effort with Community Voices: HealthCare for the Underserved, a program initiative of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation.
