The Minnesota Project and IATP Issue a White Paper on Farm Policy

A new white paper published by the Minnesota Project and the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy (IATP) examines current farm policy and frames an alternative future for American agriculture.

The paper explores the critical role of diversity in the agriculture landscape and the impact farms and monocultures are having on the environment, rural communities and farm families. The recently enacted Conservation Security Program is studied as a potential model for future national green payment policy.

The paper was co-written by agronomist Dennis Kenney, a Senior Fellow at IATP and former director of the Leopold Center for Sustainable Agriculture, and Loni Kemp, a Senior Policy Analyst for the Minnesota Project. Kemp also co-chairs the National Campaign for Sustainable Agriculture.
