Oregon Governor Proclaims Food Alliance Part of the Answer

In an executive order issued last month, Oregon Governor Ted Kulongoski outlined specific actions to help the state reach new levels of sustainability in the 21st century.


The Governor received a number of excellent suggestions from inside and outside state government about actions agencies could take to drive sustainability in Oregon. One specific recommendation is to explore increasing the sustainability of Oregon agriculture through the use and promotion of voluntary sutainability certification programs, such as Food Alliance’s. The Governor also hopes to increase state institutions’ purchase of local, sustainably produced food.
