“Communities, children, and change” is the theme of Y&E Lessons in Learning, a twice-yearly update on Youth and Education Programs at the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. This edition examines how community partnerships are working toward the unit’s goal to increase learning by young people who are most vulnerable to failure. Highlights include the Able to Play Project–Michigan communities that are mobilizing resources and awareness to build state-of-the-art playgrounds for children of all abilities; 150 people from six communities who are working together to improve teaching and learning in the new Kellogg Leadership for Community Change series; and lessons of success from 11 sites that were part of the Families for Kids initiative to reform state and local systems of adoption and foster care.
