For the fiscal year ending Aug. 31, 2025, the W.K. Kellogg Foundation distributed over $400 million for charitable purposes. New grant commitments during the fiscal year totaled $307 million with 63% benefiting the foundation’s priority places of Michigan, Mississippi, New Mexico and New Orleans in the United States, and internationally in central and southwest Haiti and in the highlands of Chiapas and the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico.
During the 1930’s Great Depression, our founder Mr. Kellogg established and funded both the foundation and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation Trust as his investment in people. As of Dec. 31, 2025, total assets of the foundation and the trust combined were valued at over $10 billion, and throughout our 95-years of helping children and families, more than $13 billion has been distributed in charitable expenditures in alignment with our mission, vison and values.
During 2025, the trust had two significant transactions related to the acquisitions of our core stock holdings donated by our founder, Mr. Kellogg. With the recent reallocation within our endowment, the finance and investment teams look forward to our work in 2026 as we explore operational efficiencies resulting from this recent historic change. The foundation and the trust remain focused on management of market risks which remain central to our investment and financial planning strategy.
The foundation’s trustees are provided with quarterly financial statements and reports on achieving key performance indicators. Annual fiscal operating plans prepared by management are reviewed and accepted by our board. Results of the examinations by independent accountants and the foundation’s internal audit office are reviewed and accepted by the full board. Mitchell Titus, LLP, serves as the independent accountant for the foundation and the trust. For tax technical expertise, advisory services and return filings, the foundation and trust utilize Crowe, LLP.
