New Mexico Community Foundation

The New Mexico Community Foundation is bringing together New Mexico foundations focused on improving learning outcomes for vulnerable youth across races, classes and cultures. Over the years, it has learned valuable lessons about how to bring about collaborative social change, and it is sharing its knowledge with more than 100 organizations operating youth prevention programs.

Our five-year, $5 million grant will leverage local investments to build leadership within New Mexico’s border immigrant and Native American communities, in part through a “Promotora de Negocios” training program, where heads of microenterprises work with a mentor who guides them in business development and connects them to available services.
