W.K. Kellogg Foundation collaborates with NBC News to share “What It Takes” to make sure every child has a fair chance at success

The W.K. Kellogg Foundation is once again proud to support NBC News’ Education Nation and to discuss how schools, communities and families can ensure kids are ready for school and capable of reaching their full potential. The 2013 summit will be held at the New York Public Library from Sunday, Oct. 6, to Tuesday, Oct. 8.

The fourth annual Education Nation Summit will explore “What It Takes” for students to get through school and ready to succeed in college, career and beyond. WKKF and its grantees will help discuss topics such as why “A Great Start,” “A Level Playing Field,” “Active Parenting,” “Well-Trained Teachers” and “Healthy Living” are needed for early school success. A number of WKKF leaders, grantees and partners will be featured during the event, including WKKF Vice President – Program Strategy Carla D. Thompson, and leaders of WKKF grantees The Children’s Defense Fund, FoodCorps, Turnaround for Children, Inc. and the Voices for Utah Children-Granite School District preschool partnership.

You can tune into NBC News and MSNBC and watch the summit online on EducationNation.com and join the conversation on Facebook by “liking” the Education Nation and WKKF’s GR8by8 pages. WKKF will also be sharing insights from conversations during the summit in real-time on Twitter at @WK_Kellogg_Fdn and you can also follow along with @EducationNation and by using the hashtags #educatedkids and #EducationNation
