BATTLE CREEK, MICH. – The W.K. Kellogg Foundation (WKKF) announces the selection of Linh C. Nguyen as vice president of Learning & Impact, and an officer of the foundation. He will join the foundation on June 3, reporting to WKKF President and CEO Sterling K. Speirn.
In his role, he will lead WKKF’s efforts to capture and share “lessons learned,” outcomes and impacts of program initiatives. He will oversee the Learning & Impact team, which tracks, analyzes and measures the results and knowledge emerging from the foundation’s grantmaking and partnerships. The team works to make this knowledge more accessible and actionable for WKKF staff and nonprofit grantee partners.
Most recently, Linh was the managing director for organizational and human capital consulting at Innovate, Inc., in Arlington, Va. There, he launched and operated a new consulting division specializing in organizational development, knowledge management, innovation and learning for public sector clients.
Prior to Innovate, Inc., Linh was a senior executive in management consulting for Accenture, LLP. During his time at Accenture, he also served as managing director for the U.S. public-sector talent and organizational performance group. He provided thought leadership and directed major engagements for government, higher education and nonprofit clients, including large foundations, including the Kellogg Foundation.
"WKKF eagerly welcomes Linh to our team. The foundation places a high value on the practical application of knowledge and we are confident that his talents and experience will enhance our ability to assess and portray the impact of our programs, and help the foundation identify and apply what we are learning from and with our grantees about the most effective ways to create the conditions of success for vulnerable children and families," said Speirn.
Nguyen has 23 years of consulting experience and has designed and implemented hundreds of successful evaluation, learning and organizational development projects. In recognition of his expertise, he was selected in 2008 to serve on the Obama Presidential Transition Team as transition co-lead for the Office of Personnel Management.
"I'm very grateful to be joining the Kellogg Foundation," said Nguyen. "This is a dream come true to be part of WKKF’s work supporting vulnerable children and families."
Nguyen holds a Bachelor of Arts in cultural anthropology from Yale University in New Haven, Conn., and is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, the American Society of Training & Development and the International Coach Federation.
