Malik Yakini, Detroit Black Community Food Security Network – 2012 Food & Community Conference

Malik Yakini, executive director of the Detroit Black Community Food Security Network and chair of the Detroit Food Policy Council, emphasized the importance of community members having a seat at the table in shaping food policy and determining their own food future. Malik spoke on a panel of Detroit organizations that are collaborating to create the conditions to ensure healthy, green, fair and affordable food for all.
