An Assessment of the Parent Engagement and Skills-building System in Miami-Dade

This report begins with a description of the current parent support and engagement system that emerged for parents of children age zero to eight and continues with the insights on potential opportunities for significant change in the system.

The Early Childhood Initiative Foundation, The Children’s Trust, The Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS), The United Way of Miami-Dade, and The University of Florida’s Lastinger Center for Learning, conducted the interviews and held focus groups to gain an understanding of the challenges faced by parents of children aged zero to eight and how they would be best supported.
