Biography:
Dr. Eduardo Sanchez is Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas. Prior to his current activities, Eduardo was Director of the Institute for Health Policy at the University of Texas School of Public Health. Eduardo served as the Texas Commissioner of Health from 2001 to 2006, initially as Commissioner of the Texas Department of Health (TDH) from November 2001 through August 2004 and then as Commissioner of the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) from September 2004 to October 2006. He was also a member of the 2008-2009 class of IATP Food and Society Fellows.
