Biography:

Jennifer is Co-Founder and COO of Farmhand Foods (www.farmhandfoods.com), a meat company based in Durham, North Carolina that connects the state’s pasture-based livestock producers with local markets.  In addition, as President of Curtis Consulting, Jennifer provides project design and management services to help improve agricultural and food system sustainability.  Her client list includes the Center for Environmental Farming Systems (CEFS), where she was Project Director of their NC Choices’ initiative for six years, Gerber Products Company, the National Council of Farmer Cooperatives, the Natural Resources Defense Council, North Carolina State University, Self-Help Credit Union, and the World Wildlife Fund.  Jennifer is the author of numerous publications, including CEFS’From Farm to Fork: A Guide to Building North Carolina’s Sustainable Local Food Economy.  Jennifer holds an M.S. in Environmental Management & Policy from the Department of Environmental Sciences & Engineering, School of Public Health at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
